Nuala’s Fight for Sight — and for Life

Nuala was just nine months old when a routine check became every parent’s worst fear. Retinoblastoma — a fast-moving, life-threatening eye cancer.

What started as a tiny flicker in her left eye was something far more dangerous — a tumor growing fast. Doctors gave her parents an impossible choice: act now and remove the eye… or risk losing her completely. They chose life.   The surgery was over in hours. The waiting — endless. And then came the words that changed everything:
“We got it all.”

Nuala was safe. She had lost an eye, but she had been given a future. She healed. She learned to crawl again. She laughed — bright, fearless, full of light.   Now, her scar isn’t a mark of what she lost —
it’s a symbol of what she survived.
Because Nuala didn’t lose her vision… She gained her life.
