I’m a firefighter.
Before every shift, I kiss a tiny forehead and promise to come back…
even though I know there are days when that promise feels heavier than my gear. 👨‍🚒🤍

My little girl doesn’t understand the danger —
she just knows her daddy wears a big helmet, drives a shiny red truck,
and sometimes has to leave before the sun comes up.
But she does understand one thing:
I always try my best to come home. ❤️

Today is her birthday. 🎂✨
While other dads wrap presents and hang balloons,
I’m standing in a fire station, tightening my boots,
waiting for the next alarm that could change everything.
And my one birthday wish…
is simply to walk through the front door tonight and hold her in my arms. 🙏💓

Every call we respond to reminds me why I fight so hard to stay safe.
Because there is a little girl who runs to me with open arms,
who thinks I’m the hero in her bedtime stories,
who believes courage looks like her dad. 🦸‍♂️👧💛

So I whisper a prayer before every blaze,
not just for the people we’re trying to save,
but for the chance to go home
and blow out candles with the person I love most. 🕯️🤍

To my daughter — Daddy loves you more than every fire he’s ever fought. Your smile is the reason I walk into danger and the reason I fight just as hard to walk back out. 🚒❤️
